System Requirements

Articles in this section

Cookonut is available on both iOS and Android. Here’s what you need to run it.

Supported Platforms

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

  • Operating system: iOS 16 or later
  • Devices: iPhone and iPad
  • Storage: approximately 100 MB for the app, plus additional space depending on how many recipes you save
  • Download: available on the App Store

Android

  • Operating system: Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later
  • Storage: approximately 100 MB for the app, plus additional space for saved recipes
  • Google Play Services: required for account sign-in and sync
  • Download: available on Google Play

Internet Connection

An internet connection is required for:

  • Creating an account and signing in
  • Importing recipes — AI processing happens in the cloud
  • Syncing data between devices
  • Upgrading to Premium

Offline Access

Once your recipes are synced, you can use most of Cookonut without internet:

  • Browse and view saved recipes
  • Use cooking mode with timers
  • View your meal plan
  • Check off items on your grocery list
  • Search and filter your collection

Changes made offline sync automatically the next time you connect to the internet.

Storage

The app itself takes about 100 MB. Beyond that, storage usage depends on how many recipes you save and whether those recipes include photos. A collection of 100 recipes with photos typically uses 200–400 MB total.

Keeping Cookonut Updated

We recommend enabling automatic updates to get the latest features and bug fixes. You can update Cookonut through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
